  • Ora-Ito cancels his participation at Rheindesign

    Report, Rheindesign

Due to familial problems, French designer Ora-Ito will not be able to partizipate at RHEINDESIGN. Representing the publisher Daab as an author, Ora-Ito was meant to take part in the discussion on the train from Brussels to Cologne. Believing sources that were brought to the ROGER designmagazine his grandmother got seriously sick… .

    Reportage, Rheindesign

Brussels is this year’s partner city of RHEINDESIGN. So already one day before, the »Design Ambassadors« Isabel Hamm, Prof. Dr. Michael Erlhoff and Tobias Gross made their way to Brussels to meet Belgian designers there.

101% Designed in BrusselsThe first spot to visit was »101% Designed in Brussels« – an initiative of the Foreign Trade Department of the Brussels Capital Region and »Mode Design Brussels 2006«. In presentation are the works of Continue Reading »

    Missverständnis um Rheindesign

    Report, Rheindesign

    Think For A Living

    Report

tfal.jpgFrom the Dallas Society of Visual Communications 3rd Annual National Student Show & Conference comes Thinking For A Living.

Thinking For A Living was created for those who believe that while design is a profession, it’s above all a passion. And as passionate graphic designers, we are obliged to ourselves, our industry and our clients to provide creative solutions that have persuasive branding messages, but also emotional power and aesthetic value. I believe great design is an art, not a commodity or a formula. – Duane King, Creative Director, BBDK, Inc.

See Thinking For A Living, an ever-growing platform dedicated to the concept of open source design education. Good list of resources.

    Design IS Invisible

    Report

For many of us, DESIGN IS INVISIBLE. We live in a world that is so thoroughly configured by human effort that design has become second nature, ever-present, inevitable, taken for granted. – Massive Change

“Design has emerged as one of the world’s most powerful forces. It has placed us at the beginning of a new, unprecedented period of human possibility, where all economies and ecologies are becoming global, relational, and interconnected. In order to understand and harness Continue Reading »
